To be trusted and ethical professionals we must eliminate our self-disciplining structures in favour of an independent disciplinary system. A system with the teeth to go after any member from first-year trainee to Chairman of the SAICA. A system that names, shames and expels unethical individuals without fear or favour. A shortage of skilled professionals cannot be an excuse for mediocrity in this area.
